Galway MTB Club Committee 2025

Tara Browne

(Chairperson)

Tara started Mountain Biking on a cold, wet and wintery night spin in Clarenbridge and came back for a second go, so we knew she was hooked! She likes to go on a MTB holiday during every month with 28 days or more in it. Rumour has it she likes a bit of Tech on her favorite trails. For someone addicted to MOUNTAIN biking, she does love to moan about pedalling up the slightest incline (amongst other things). Tara has done so much to encourage beginners and especially women to get involved in both the club and national race scene....and if she hasn't told you already, she prefers Tech!

Kevin McGuinness

(Treasurer)

Kevin joined the club to pursue his lifelong affinity for falling off things. Contrary to most, he actually likes pedalling up hills almost as much as coming down the other side!

Bert Moran

(Secretary)

Bert started mountain biking during lockdown and joined GMTB soon after. He loves roots, rocks, mud and rain and any other madness that slows the better riders down! This year, Bert is hoping to spend more time on his bike, and less time falling off it.

Ian Robbins

(Environmental Officer)

Ian is our surfing, snowboarding, rockstar, donkey lover who takes environmental issues so seriously he took the wheelchair home from Dyfi instead of driving. Ian encourages us to look at what we are doing on the hill and in the forest and asks is there a better way…can we pick up some rubbish, plant a tree or sponsor an owl?? Whatever we do we now have Ian our Environmental Officer to guide us in the right direction.

Denise Kennedy

(Safegaurding Officer)

Denise took to the trails in Clarinbridge with her son and realised she liked it too. She loves a good “flowy” trail but finds trees tend to jump out in front of her. And now shes the Safegaurding Officer in our mountain biking club, bish, bash bosh!

Trevor Quinn

(Youth Spins Officer)

Trevor is the cornerstone of the club’s thriving youth program, which has seen remarkable growth in recent years. His leadership fosters a safe, inclusive, and exciting environment where young riders can flourish—whether through local spins or competing in national events. Passionate about nurturing talent and building community, Trevor takes immense pride in cultivating one of Ireland’s largest and celebrated MTB youth groups.
